The Oregon coast has the hearts of many. And that’s why on Valentine’s Day I launched the “Dear Oregon Coast” campaign for The Nature Conservancy, encouraging people to put pen to paper (or fingers to keys) and share what this amazing place means to them.
This was one of the first efforts to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of TNC’s Cascade Head Preserve, where the goal was to raise awareness about this special place and TNC's work all along the Oregon Coast. I worked with Salishan Resort & Spa to turn this love fest into a sweepstakes, and we awarded one lucky person with a weekend getaway.
Promoted across social media, email and radio for three weeks, this campaign drew 2,000 entrants, who were further engaged with monthly emails about TNC events and stories about our work along the coast and across Oregon.
Bonus: For the following year, I used phrases from love letter submissions in social media graphics anytime I promoted our work on the coast.
Double Bonus: I used phrases from love letter submissions in a window display for Pacifica, a sculpture created by artist Nancy Judd in recognition of Cascade Head's 50th Anniversary.
